The five competitive forces that shape strategy

The five competitive forces that shape strategy by Michael Porter forms the basis of Strategic Management, one of the subjects I am studying for 1st quarter in MBA. The following video illustrates what these forces are and how they interact with each other and shape the strategy of a company and an industry all together.

What I like about this is, coupled with the case studies that we do in class, it makes perfect sense!

Thanks for keeping us in loop with your classroom subject… very nice video, but I felt he missed two main forces (Political & Environmental forces).

Yes, I agree with you. Political and environmental forces, which are external factors, have been left out by Porter. Apart from this, he has not included couple of other forces like threat of complements, adjacent industries, and governmental intervention.
